What is Oopbuy, how it charges, and how to start

The background you need before any coupon makes sense: what the agent does, the steps of a first order, where the money goes, and the exchange rate inside every price.

What is Oopbuy, in one parcel's terms

Oopbuy is a shopping agent: it buys items for you from Chinese marketplaces, receives them at its warehouse in Xiamen, inspects and photographs them, and ships them abroad on a line you choose. The operator is Openbuy Technology HK Limited, company number 77213008; the linked contact page puts it in Causeway Bay, while an older, unlinked notice names Tuen Mun.

Links from Taobao, 1688 and Weidian can be pasted directly; other links go through a DIY order form. Accounts can be opened with email, Google or Discord, and there are apps on the App Store and Google Play, which matters here because points redemption is finished in the app.

How to use Oopbuy: the first order, step by step

The official tutorial has 11 steps, continuing beyond the first payment through warehouse selection, waybill creation, freight, settlement and tracking. The complete illustrated guide follows that single sequence. Claiming a coupon at step two does not establish eligibility for a particular order.

After step six the order follows its own course: the agent buys, the seller ships to Xiamen, the warehouse opens the parcel, checks it and photographs it. Only then do you build a parcel and pay the second bill. The normal storage policy reviewed on 18 October 2026 gives 90 days from receipt; abnormal goods have a different period. Storage does not extend the conditional return window. Check the account deadline before waiting for another item.

Fee structure behind the two bills

The Service and Fees page puts the total as product cost plus international shipping plus customs declaration fee, and says no other fees are charged apart from optional value-added services. Product cost means the item price plus freight inside China to the warehouse. The declaration fee is generally ¥8 per parcel, depending on the line. The page lists the agent service fee as zero.

Topping up your balance can add a cost. The Top up page puts PayPal at 4.5% plus $0.30, while an FAQ entry still says about 3.7% plus $0.30; we show both. Wise top-ups accept five currencies: USD, GBP, EUR, NZD and AUD.

The exchange rate inside every price

Oopbuy prices start in yuan. When the shipping estimator shows dollars, it divides by a fixed number: on 10 October and again on 15 October 2026 that divisor was 5.9756 across the whole table, with 6.7063 for euros and 7.9148 for pounds. Compared with mid-market rates on the same days, the displayed currencies sat between 11.4% and 13.7% above, and an independent all-in measurement in October 2026 came to about 12.2%.

These historical observations do not establish how the operator allocates revenue. Currency conversion affects the amount you fund, and it touches coupons too: coupon limits are stored in dollars at nearly the same divisor. When a coupon is written in yuan, compare it with your bill in yuan.

Why choose Oopbuy, and when to use another agent

Most of what Oopbuy does is what every agent does: buys for you, photographs what arrives, stores it and ships it on the line you choose. Where it differs: there is no service fee line, the coupon programme is split cleanly between the product bill and the parcel bill, and points are spent on a partner catalogue rather than taken off your bill.

When you might prefer another agent: if you want written stacking rules before you buy, if you would rather not install an app to redeem points, or if you want coupon terms itemised for every bundle. None of those is published here, and this site cannot fill those gaps for you.

Support is listed as 24/7 chat on the Contact Us page, with three email addresses alongside, and the official Discord server is linked in the site footer.

Delivery times: three versions

Delivery estimates appear in three forms on the official site. A help page lists line times of roughly 5 to 12 days for some destinations, the delivery-time page says about 15 to 30 days depending on destination, and the estimator shows a range for each line. They describe different things (line transit, overall delivery, a specific quote), and each remains an estimate. Check the route description and whether its clock starts at dispatch, carrier acceptance or another event. None is a delivery guarantee.

Coupons do not change transit times. A cheaper line bought with a shipping coupon is still the slower line.

Separate the exchange rate from payment fees

Record three amounts: what your bank charges in your home currency, the CNY credited after funding, and the CNY deducted for the order. Dividing credited CNY by the home-currency charge gives the effective funding rate for that transaction. A mid-market currency display is a comparison reference, not the rate a provider must offer.

Compare the same day and payment method, including a fixed fee, percentage fee and any card issuer conversion. Do not apply the October 2026 conversion observations above as a current quote. The fee policy reviewed on 18 October lists item cost including domestic freight, international freight, a declaration fee generally 8 CNY depending on route, and optional extras; it does not prove that funding is free.
